If you missed the The Lock Down Concert  featuring Zimbabwean music Legend Oliver Mtukudzi organised by Mavuno Church Kampala and SMS ONE, look forward for another event of a similar kind because this was just the beginning.

On Friday the 30th of June, Imperial Royale Hotel located on Nakasero Hill was the place to be at basing on the fact that revellers who gathered there for the sold out ‘The Lock Down Concert’ went back home fully entertained by the headlining performers and even the hosts who happened to be comedians Pablo and Anne Kansiime.

Singer Afrie was called upon to warm up the crowd before the main performers namely Naava Grey who serenaded the attendees with her love songs like ‘Soka Lami’ and ‘Nterede’, Pompi from Zambia who performed 13 songs in a row before Kanjii Mbugua from Kenya who warmed up the stage for Oliver.

Dressed in a Black and White combination of rich West African fabric design Mtukudzi also known as ‘Tuku’ took to the stage with his traditional trade mark guitar firmed strapped around hi side and immediately embarked on a music journey where he belted out tunes from the familiar deep, gusty and strong voice punctuated by some energetic dance routines.

In a nut shell, The Lock Down convert boasted of lots of things thrilling live music performances, comedy and above all having an up close and personal with African music legend Oliver Mtukudzi all the way from Zimbabwe.
