As we talk now, Ugandan citizens can officially enjoy the services of the new Nile Bridge which Was officially been launched on Wednesday the 17th of October.
Hundreds of residents in Jinja where the bridge is located as well as government officials stormed the place in hundreds to attend the ceremony of the launch whose guest of honour was the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni alongside his wife Janet Museveni.
Funded by the Ugandan and Japanese governments, the 525 metres-long bridge is expected to promote the economic growth of Uganda and the East African countries through enhancing smoothness of transportation
Built at a cost of Ug Shs 450 billion, the bridge lacally known as olutindo was designed with a structural life span of 120 years and its location and amazing architectural look is expected to attract tourism
The bridge got complete in late September but from that time constructors have been finalizing a few small things like installation of bridge lighting protection system, bridge illumination and connection of the bridge structural monitoring system to the monitoring room
