The few minutes Uganda’s multitalented artiste and self proclaimed music doctor Jose Chameleone spent on stage with legendary Reggae family Morgan Heritage was enough mileage for him especially basing on the fact that he has the upcoming Legend Hit After Hit concert on 30th June.
As the ‘Don’t Haffi Dread’ singers performed at their long awaited and sold out Jam With Morgan Heritage concert last Thursday the 13th of April at Lugogo Cricket Oval, in the middle of their close to two hours showcase, the lead singer Peetah Morgan called upon Chameleone to join them.
With all his excitement and the ululations from the crowd, Chameleone took to stage jumping up and down before throwing some freestyle lyrics on a Reggae beat that was playing as he walked on stage. Peetah later started a brief conversation and asked Chameleone whether he comes from Jamaica.
“You sure you no com from Jamaica?” Speaking in Jamaican Patois, Peetah Morgan asked Chameleone. “No man mi is a Ugandan man.” Chameleone replied as the crowd cheered loud before he left the stage and let the Jamaicans continue with their performance.
It was a big moment for Chameleone because ever since Morgan Heritage came in Uganda, we had not yet seen them with any Ugandan artiste until last Thursday when they shared the stage with Chameleone. However, Jamaican artiste Konshens did the same thing of calling upon Chameleone on stage while performing at the Konshens and Busy Signal live in Uganda concert in 2015 which also featured Busy Signal.
Both Chameleone and Morgan Heritage were privileged and happy to have shared the stage and this can be told from their social media posts.
