The ride in the Ugandan music industry is never smooth. There are those who have appeared on the scene so fast and equally vanished at the speed of light. While there are the big boys who have dominated for years and are here to stay, many hopefuls struggle to hold their own in the music industry, the big three artistes(Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine) have ruled the industry, much like a dynasty except that they are neither related nor are they best friends.

Nevertheless, once in a while a rising star emerges and as usual, there is the excitement created with expectations sky rocketing if the particular new entrant storms the scene with a hit song. Disappointingly they most times flatter to deceive and end up as one hit wonders.

After a journey that started way back in Kawempe ghettos, and took him to Chameleone’s Leone Island, then Big Talent Entertainment, finally Big Eye has arrived with his own crew and label Big Musik Entertainment. Big Eye real names Ibrahim Mayanja says he is now ready to take onto the big stage. He doesn’t want to be a one hit wonder and neither does he want to be eternal upcoming.

With his first major concert ‘Ekikumi – Physically’ fit slated for August 15th at Freedom City on Entebbe road, the shy deep voiced ‘Sula indicator’ singer wants to announce his arrival on the Ugandan music scene.

“I did a trial album launch in 2009 in Luwero, Kasangati and some towns in the outskirts of Kampala. It was very successful for the target audience. However i took my time to do research and record good music and now i feel it is the right time to hit the big stage. I am physically fit and ready”. A buoyant Big Eye told Chano8

The Afro – beat singer who also incorporates dancehall beats to his music in an exclusive interview with Chano8 claims he is physically fit, mentally prepared and ready to roll.

He now has a new 8 – track album which he says will entertain his fans for a very long time. His message in the album is simple and direct; Love, live life and enjoy! He features Fireman and Mary Bata in the Album.

Entry fee for his August 15th concert at Freedom City will be 10,000/= and 30,000/ for VIP. The follow up shows will be at Nimrod Beach in Luwero on 16th and then Jazz Bridge In Entebbe.
