The Buganda kingdom is still jubilating after Prince David Wasajja, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s brother and his wife Marion Nankya welcomed a baby girl last Friday at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.
The bundle of joy is the second born after they welcomed their first child in 2014. They were married on 25th April 2013 at Rubaga Cathedral.
The new princess was named in memory of her grandmother Sarah Ndagire and on Saturday, the Kabaka paid a brief visit to the couple and their new born.
“On behalf of my wife and the royal family, I am glad to inform you that God blessed us with a princess last Friday at 2pm. We thank all those who have come to bless us with gifts,” Prince Wassajja told journalists.
Princess Sarah Ndagire follows Prince Edward Mbogo, who was also born at Nakasero Hospital. He was named in memory of his late grandfather Sir Edward Mutesa II and great great grandfather Nuhu Mbogo, a renowned Buganda Prince and leader of Islam in Buganda. Mbogo was Kabaka Mwanga’s brother.
