The FOMO is building and hype is sky-rocketing as the biggest end- of- year party – The Purple Party Is around the corner. The party organised by NTV’s Douglas Lwanga, is happening this weekend on Sunday December 11th at the Uganda Museum in Kitante and this year’s edition dubbed the ‘All VIP Half a decade celebration’ is going to be a family affair.
According to Lwanga, Purple Party is strictly a celebration of Ugandan music and therefore there will be no headlining acts coming from abroad and instead 200 local talents from across the country has been lined up to grace the day and party with the fans.
“Just like in previous editions, there will be no international artistes to headline the party because it is a celebration of Ugandan music. We are also giving a chance for our artistes with whom we have worked to shine and interact with their fans” Lwanga told Chano8 in an inclusive interview.
This edition sponsored by SMS ONE, www.chano8.com , NTV, KFM Club Music among others, will have a combination of the crème de la crème as well as upcoming talent from across the country selected from the regional Purple Party tours in Jinja, Mbarara, Lira and Gulu. This will be the biggest party and therefore blended with top DJs, MCs, dancers and comedians. So the idea is to involve all stake holders in the entertainment industry.
Lwanga also says this will be an all-inclusive family edition where children will be part of the party and a fun experience they will not forget. It is natural that children too enjoy entertainment and therefore will be catered for with a special play area and children’s section sponsored by Mixakids Newspaper with several activities ranging from bouncing castles, face painting to board games.
Entry fee is 10,000/= for children and 20,000/= for adults and VIP is 100,000/=. The full program for the day’s activities will be released soon and Chano8 will keep you updated.
