The ‘Tulambule Campaign’ that was supposed to have kicked off today Monday the 28th of January 2019 has been cancelled after Miss Uganda as well as Miss World Africa Quiin Abenakyo failed to make it due to illness.
It is said that the beauty queen informed the organizers of the campaign on Sunday of her health mishap.
“The Queen is not feeling well. Much as she wanted to be part of the Tulambule trip, doctors have stopped her from travelling until when she gets well.” Ms Brenda Nanyonjo, the chief executive officer of Miss Uganda Foundation said adding that Quiin had earlier complained of a root canal problem that further brought fever.
The 5-day campaign was supposed to start from Eastern to Northern Uganda and had programmes like ziplining, bungee jumping, rafting among others.
Ms Quiin Abenakyo was appointed the Goodwill Tourism Ambassador by the State Minister for Tourism, Mr Godfrey Kiwanda and her role is to promote domestic tourism through the Tulambule Uganda Campaign.
The Tulambule campaign started late last year with Zari Hassan as the ambassador but when Abenakyo achieved her the Miss World Africa crown, the organizers found her fit to be the best option this year.
It is however said that the campaign might resume immediately Abenakyo feels better.
