Despite miss Olivier Nakakande being announced the new Miss Uganda 2019/2020,outgoing Miss Uganda Quiin Abenakyo’s reign hasn’t ended yet. She is still Miss World Africa, a title she earned some months ago when she went to represent for Uganda at the Miss World beauty pageant in November 2018.
As Nakakande enjoys the good things that come along for being Miss Uganda, Abenakyo, is still Miss World Africa and her reign will get done in December this year.
According to Brenda Nanyonjo, the CEO of Miss Uganda, the crowning of Nakakande doesn’t mean it is all over for Abenakyo.
“Abenakyo is still reigning as Miss World Africa and her term ends in December this year. But we are still doing stuff as Miss World Africa,” Brenda told Chano8.
She also added that the outgoing Miss Uganda is also doing work for her ‘Quiin Abenakyo Foundation’ as well as doing mentorship programmes in the academy of queens.
“Quinn is also part of the academy of queens which helps in grooming upcoming models and queens by guiding them and giving them moral support as well.”
Abenakyo has been the most successful beauty queen ever since the Miss Uganda pageant was started in 1967 which means that Nakakande has big shoes to fill if she is to make an impact during her reign.
