South African rapper Cassper Nyovest could not believe the love his Ugandan fans showed him last night at the Full Moon Party organised by MTN Uganda at the Garden City Roof top in Kampala.
The rapper who had earlier confessed he did not know what to expect from the East African nation was overwhelmed with joy after stepping on stage at around 11pm and got visibly emotional because of the response he received from the fans while performing.
“This is unbelievable, I love Uganda I love you all for showing me love” He said after taking a break from his energetic and high tempo session.
The fair crowd which comprised mostly youth and university students was electric and responded positively to every song his personal DJ played and sang along as they waved their hands menacingly into the chilly air at the open rooftop.
Although the South African real names Refiloe Maele Phoolo known for the song Wamo Tseba Mtho, is a big-name artiste back home (having filled up a stadium with 68,000 people at a concert), in Uganda, the name wasn’t too familiar with many music lovers and therefore observers were not sure of what to expect let alone the artiste himself, organisers and the fans.
But when the 27-year-old rapper from Mafikeng stepped on stage, all that changed as the noise levels reached new heights and the youngsters joined in the crazy fun singing to some of his hit songs like “Doc Shebeleza”, “Gusheshe”, “Too Legit”, “Skelm”, “Mama I made It” and “Tito Mboweni” to prove to the rest of the world that they knew what they were doing especially the young ladies who were asked by the MCs Deedan and Kats to name 3 songs of the rapper but ended up naming more than 5.
Cassper’s list of songs which basically had his best hits was also influenced by the fans whom he had asked via twitter to request for. Even during the performance he kept pausing and instructing his DJ to play this or that which evidently showed it was done last minute and came to hasty end a few minutes to midnight.

The night which also featured other local hip-hop artistes like Navio, The Mith and Big Ben was spiced up by Beenie Gunter and Bebe Cool. MTN and Talent Africa who are the brands behind the party also organised cubicles for the Pulsers to play video games, have photo shoots and or just catch up.
