South Africa based, Ugandan rapper DMB real names Charles Omony is one of the upcoming forces in the HipHop game. Having released recent collaborations like We Alright and I Do, he is back with a single track this time. As his story dictates, this guy came from the bottom and made it finally. Born in a humble military family in Jinja, he has worked hard to get where he is now. His new single track titled ‘Hakuna Kulala’ is his gift to fellow youths.
The song was inspired by his journey to where he is at the moment. His dream has always been to make music which carries a positive message and inspires a positive change in the society and generation. His dream became reality some years ago when he travelled to South Africa where he got hired for his great Technical Computer Network Support experience and skill set. The same work ethic he applies to his day job, he also applies to making his music.
In an exclusive interview with Chano8, DMB had this to say. “Hakuna Kulala is a Swahili phrase that means no sleep, this track is about staying awake, no sleeping but hard work and feeling good without worries.” “I am also always trying new things so I am also doing this to urge youths out there to step out of their comfort zones and seek for greatness like I did by going to South Africa,” he added.
The song which was produced by AirDee is already hitting the airwaves all over Africa thanks to his record deal with Universal Music. With over 3,000 plays on AudioMack in less than a week, this is definitely a sign that the message is spreading fast. The audio is available for download and a video is already in the works.
