“They contacted me to participate in a song and Just like any musician that makes a living off singing, I participated. I didn’t know that my involvement would hurt my fans. I apologize for that because if they are hurt, I’m also hurt.” Rema said during an interview on ‘The Beat’ programme regarding her involvement in the Tubonga Nawe project.
When asked why she was part of it in the first place, the artiste said that she was contacted to only participate in the song although she didn’t know the results would affect her career in any way.
To cement her apology, the ‘Deep in love’ artiste also took to her Facebook wall and sent a message to her fans that read “My beautiful fans, I never take your love and support for granted.”
Rema, just like Juliana Kanyomozi, Iryn Namubiru and Pastor Wilson Bugembe are some of the other artistes who appeared on the official NRM campaign song but never participated in the campaign trail.
