Report: Bobi Wine Claims Impounded Red Cross Car

BobiMedia reports indicate Ghetto president His Excellency ‘Gladiator’ Bobi Wine has apparently claimed ownership of a car which was impounded by URA over tax evasion from Red Cross. The Toyota Tundra pick-up which investigators had impounded from former Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) secretary General, Richard Nataka’s home in Munyonyo has been claimed by singer Bobi Wine. The artist claims he bought the monster machine.

Bobi Wine, real names Robert Kyagulanyi, according to some media reports on Wednesday 16th April is said to have driven the Tundra with a red registration number UAT 416K from the Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department (CIID) at Kibuli amidst protests from the URCS officials. He claims that the said car belongs to him and not URCS. That he paid taxes of about 53million and only used a Red Cross container to ship it because he (Bobi Wine) is a Red Cross goodwill ambassador and personal friend to the officials.

The Toyota Tundra which was part of a consignment of suspected smuggled goods had been parked at Kibuli after it was impounded on suspicion of tax evasion. A team of Police and Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) officials had found the monster truck at Nataka’s home. The Tundra’s Bill of Lading  however had URCS as the importer.

Inspector General of police Kale Kayihura is said to have given the orders to release the Ride to Bobi, something the Red cross officials are have vehemently protested. They are now working hard to recover possession and ownership of the Japanese vehicle valued at over $16,800.Nataka had earlier admitted that there was a vehicle that belonged to a businessman in his compound. He however did not name the said businessman. Bobi wine however has been very busy with his Easter weekend shows and could not be reached for comment.
