Rising Star Ivory Namara Talks About Her Inspiration For Music

Rising star Ivory Namara came to the lime light after featuring on Mckenzie’s winner’s circle with A Pass and Atlas.

The 21 year old soulful singer then hit the studios and outed her own song ‘Kings and queens’. Ivory is an upcoming multi-genre musician currently based in Kampala. She studied abroad and finally returned home to start a new life and career in music which is now getting some attention and recognition especially among the youth.

She was born in Kampala, Uganda then her family moved to the USA where she attended school. They later moved back and she joined Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya where she studied Mass Communication. That’s where her career began.

In an exclusive interview with Chano8 the young artiste talked about her inspiration for music,

‘Well, ever since I could remember, I’ve always wanted to be a singer. Listening to the radio, I learned from the age of 4 to imitate and memorize lyrics before I could read. From then on, it’s just always been a dream I’m obsessed with. I started a YouTube page and got a lot of hits from my covers, then attempted recording in high school but only did features. When I was at Daystar, I met a lot of talented people and that’s when I decided I would begin the journey and put out my own music.’
