Some people call it a big competitor of Blankets And Wine event but Roast And Rhyme event organised by Swangz Avenue came, it took over and is here to stay. It happens 3 three times a year and each edition has a different theme.
2018 saw revellers enjoy the ‘Reggae Ragga Nyam Nyam’ , ‘Story Tellers’ and ‘Soul On Strings’ editions and this year, the event is back with a big bang with the ‘Reggae Ragga Nyam Nyam’ edition slated for Sunday the 24th of February at the usual venue Jahazi Pier located in Munyonyo
In an interview with the Swangz Avenue public relations officer Miss Jaylor Birungi, she had this to say. “The Reggae Ragga Nyam Nyam Edition is aimed to bring all Reggae & Ragga Music fanatics together as they roast their favorite bites on a Sunday afternoon with friends & family by the lakeside”
Jaylor went to add that this edition will bring the best local Reggae and Ragga acts Uganda boasts of closer to the fans. “This edition will showcase the best of Uganda’s reggae and Ragga acts with top notch production as it’s the norm for swangz events”
Last Year’s Reggae Ragga Nyam Nyam edition which took place on Sunday the 11th of February 2018 was spiced up by Ziggy Dee, Henry Tigan, Roots Warriors Band, Sizza Man and Rabadaba
With usual Ug Shs 50,000 entrance fee, gates will be opened at 11AM and there will be lots of barbecue all day long without forgetting the kids area fully stocked with lots of games to keep the little ones busy too.
We are comfortable to say that it’s one of the most attended events in Kampala and the crowds which have been attending the previous say it all.
