One of the reasons for the initiation of Roast and Rhyme a family event in a picnic set up was to restore the Ugandan music industry and on this 5th edition, one of Uganda’s veteran musicians will be making his appearance, perhaps in a very long time.

Kabuye Ssemboga, behind songs like ‘Ebisanyi’, ‘Onyambanga’ and ‘Fahima’ among others will be the star of the night at Jahazi Pier in Munyonyo this Sunday during the ‘Souls On Strings’ edition.

No one knows where Kabuye Semboga performs from lately and if it wasn’t for Grace Nakimera redoing his ‘Onyambaga’ song which kind of revived it to this generation, a few people would actually know that he is a veteran in the music industry.

However, he won’t be performing alone as Maurice Kirya and well as guitar maestro Michael Ouma will also be entertaining the guests.

Themed ‘Soul on Lusania’, the organisers are even setting up a farmers market on grounds where people can buy meat, spices, condiments and vegetables.

There will also be special staff on hand to help patrons set up their barbecue stoves and to facilitate the fun times with friends or family. There are special discounts for people who will be purchasing more than 5 tickets and to everyone who comes with a barbecue stove, they will get a free 4 pack of Bell Lager.
