The 2019 (4th edition) of the Rolex Festival organised by Rolex Initiative Uganda was officially launched at a press briefing that had some representatives from the partnering companies like Africell and Coca Cola in attendance on Tuesday evening at the Independence Monument in Kampala.
The Rolex Initiative CEO Enid Mirembe who thanked everyone who has been attending the event at Uganda Museum before announcing that they have expanded to a bigger venue, Lugogo Cricket Oval come Sunday the 18th of August.
“This event has happened for four years now and very soon we are going to host the fourth edition. It has always happened at Uganda Museum and now we have expanded to Lugogo Cricket Oval”
Enid also gave a background of why amongst all snacks, she chose the rolex’ “Rolex is a meal eaten by everyone. Secondly, in tourism, global destinations are known for their foods. When you go to Italy you find pizza and pasta, in India you find the biryani in Europe it’s the wine culture and in Uganda a chapatti is everywhere”
As opposed to the normal things like fun, games, eating rolex, enjoying artistes’ performances This time round, the rolex makers will benefit from the event according the what Edgar Karamagi from Africell said
“There is a lot of initiatives that will be done for the rolex makers like putting them in circles and doing a lot of things especially hygiene and that is something that will improve the lives of the community” Explained Edgar
The festival’s 4th edition launch also saw the journalists and people who were in attendance get a free rolex and a bottle of coca cola soda
