Rwanda Replaces Angola As Big Brother Africa Returns

After a yearlong wait, reality TV fans of Big Brother Africa will once again be glued to their television sets as the show returns on their screens on 6 September. The show which has produced some of Africa’s big names in the showbiz industry like All star winner Uti Nwachukwu, Gaetano Kagwa, Prezzo, Pokello and Elikem is set to usher in a new group of stars.

Filled with the usual drama, loads of laughter and tears, budding romances, fun competitions, House tasks, nerve wrecking evictions, the reality series has grown to boast of a substantial television following across the continent.

The show that has in the past attracted some funny, dramatic, weird and wonderful characters have kept viewers glued to the screens 24/7. Some serious talents have been unearthed and some housemates have gone on to become big stars and millionaires. While others have taken their relationships built in the house to ‘the next level’ outside the house

We expect lots of twists and turns as well as tension- building suspense by Biggy in Season 9 too. Entry is open to the same 14 countries with the only exception this time round being Angola which will be replaced by newcomers Rwanda. Participating countries this year therefore are: Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Entries are only open to persons over the age of 21, who are citizens of one of the participating countries and must have a valid passport.

According to organisers, producers are looking for persons who are entertaining and passionate about the Big Brother experience; and they have to be fluent in English. Audition dates will be finalised in June and more information on BIG BROTHER AFRICA 9 will be made available over the next month.
