Former Tusker project fame contestant Gabiro Guitar and is Ugandan counterpart All Toniks over the weekend excited revellers at the Kigali-Bujumbura night at Kay club in Centenary Park. The do that took place on Friday July 22nd was also graced by Gigi from Rwanda.
The place was already packed as early as 10.00pm by the eager fans who had turned up to enjoy the theme night inspired by Rwanda’s and Burundi’s capital cities respectively. There was also the need to enjoy something fresh across the boarders.
By midnight the stage was set and stepping up first on stage was Afro soul and RnB singer Gretta Gigi who is known for songs like Nisubiyeho, Ntukijijishe and Ntihagire ukumbuza. Gigi who performed her top songs in her native Kinyarwanda left the crowd following proceeding in silence. Although it was not clear whether they were taken up by her beauty and dance moves or just not clicking what she was singing in the end it mattered less as had got new fans already.

2010 Tusker Project fame contestant Gabiro Guitar who told Chano8 back stage that he was very excited to be in Kampala and perform for the first time here, could not wait to jump on stage and showcase what he had up his sleeves for the Ugandan music enthusiasts.
And when his chance came, he took it up with both hands first making sure the DJ had got his selections right and that all he had assembled for his new fans was top notch. Dressed in blacked ripped jeans, Black T-shirt and a blue jean jacket with a black cap, he then took the crowd in a musical journey performing songs from way back when he had just left TPF to his recent songs.He got the crowd excited when he finally did his top song Kakadance

To crown the night was Uganda’s own Allan Toniks who interacted well with the ladies and was even joined on stage by her young fans who kept shouting ‘Beera Nange’ in reference to Tonik’s break through song of 2010 and he obliged by inviting him on stage where they danced romantically to the excitement of the rest of the revellers.

Kay Club’s DJs DJ X, DJ Adam, DJ Peter and DJ Deroxy then took on the turn tables to take the night to the next level where the revellers took to the floor dancing to variety mix of East African and international music that went till the wee hours of Saturday. The theme night will happen every second last Friday of the month.
