Sadness and shock has gripped the Gagamel family as their own artiste, Allan Masengere commonly known as ‘Shortkut’ passed on early this morning. The announcement was made by Gagemel boss Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool who also referred to the young singer as his ‘son’
Although Bebe Cool actually has a biological son named Allan too, the one who passed on is Masengere a nephew to Bebe. He has been bed ridden for over 40 days in intensive care although the details of the disease he suffered from remain sketchy.
Bebe Cool recently posted the news of his condition and asked fans to pray for his recovery after his condition deteriorated. However, things didn’t go well until he passed on this morning.
“My son Allan Massengere aka Shortkut,a young talent in the music industry of Uganda has been bed ridden for nearly a month now fighting for his life. Friends and family, your prayers are welkam. Get well soon in the name of Allah.” Bebe Cool Posted on Wednesday after visiting the artiste.
Bebe Cool made the announcement on his Facebook and referred to the deceased as his ‘son’ which also confused some sections of his followers thinking it was Allan Hendrik Ssali who had passed on.
“The Lord has decided my son Allan Massengere should join him in a better place,i thank all the doctors and nurses who tried to save his life for the past 40 days. May his soul rest in peace.” Bebe posted this morning.

Bebe is an uncle to Shortkut and although the young singer had been in the industry for quite some time, he hadn’t had any big breakthrough yet. He is known for the song ‘Big Mouth By far’ where he features Denzo Int’n’l.
It is believed that in the song, the artiste was dissing Bebe Cool’s nemesis Bobi Wine as they claim he only knows how to talk too much and has nothing to show for it, while on the other side, their boss is better by far in all aspects.
Bobi Wine while sending his condolences on Bebe Cool’s post asked those alive to “live in harmony”.
“Rest in peace Short Cut, may the almighty strengthen your family and friends. Those of us that are still alive have a duty to live in harmony”.
