Salvado Put Up Epic Performance At Man From Ombokolo Season 2

Ugandan top comedian Patrick Salvado Idringi last night put up one of the best ever stand up comedy acts this country has witnessed at his one man show ‘Man From Omkokolo Season 2 which took place on Friday at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.

He had earlier promised to his fans to make the show  ‘international standard’ after receiving massive backing from singleton and indeed he surpassed expectations as fans were left yearning for more after his marathon rib-cracking session that lasted close to 2 hours non-stop.

Well, during the build up to the show, the most raised issue was whether he was going to repeat old jokes and he said he would package something fresh and completely different from the usual approach which indeed he emphatically executed.

Stepping on stage at 9:35pm with a free-style rap session featuring Fik Fameica, Nutty Neithan and YKee Benda, Salvado decided to package his jokes in a story-telling format where he took his audience through his life’s journeys and he shared rereal-lifexperiences if a hilarious way. He started by acknowledging the support rendered to him by Sudhir Ruparelia’s family who had bought 2 VIP tables represented by Rajiv and his family and friends.

Salvado was welcomed o stage by Fik Fameca(R), Ykee Benda(Pink pants and Nutty Neithan(L) via a free-style rap session

He told the story of how he was hosted at 6billion house by the family and the house wth 3 parking lots only accepts new model cars from 2013 and above but his being a 1995 old Benz was rejected. He also told of the house having a state of the art gym on the fourth floor but unfortunately the gym seems to be wasted in there since no impact is seen on the likes of Rajiv who keeps piling on weight.

Rajiv and Ruparelia family members were also a subject matter for Salvado

Rajiv’s friend Gideon Kirumira (son to tycoon Geoffrey Kirumira) and partner were cracked to tears

He also took the audience on a journey back home in Omkololo where he went to visit and his encounter with his ‘old friends’ back home who a difficult to deal with before embarking on the journey to Northern Uganda where he organised a show and as MC, he would announce artistes but that the attendees went with posters and each time he calls an artiste on stage, they would check the poster to first ‘confirm’ before cheering.

The facial expressions alone were so funny sometimes he didn’t even have to say much

As he returned from the upcoming tours he went straight home and started by introducing his Kyaliwajala neighbourhood dubbed ‘Charlie’and then wife Daphine whom he said he loves so much and is in charge of running home affairs especially employing workers and particularly house helps( maids). However, the problem was that after employing and firing a thief and old woman who could question his moves and even lecture him, the best maid who was starting to look beautiful was fired by wife with no apparent reason.

Salvado’s wife Daphine Frankstock(R) was in the crowd following attentively

And these ladies were literally killed by the jokes

His other jokes were about his travels abroad especially Nigeria and encounters with friends and fans across the boarders where his ‘Amin looks’ was the major subject.

As is usually the case, world over, a stand comedy show without a sexual joke is not complete and Salvado had to conclude his show with one about not trusting women who receive phone calls while in the act and their tone doesn’t change as they speak.

Overall, his performance was on point as all the jokes were fresh and executed perfectly and the production by Fenon records from sound, lighting and stage setup was also on point as the hall was almost filled to capacity.

Apart from the Ruparelia family, there were also other notable guests like Bebe Cool, Desire Luzinda, Radio and Weasel, Lydia Jasmine, Faces on TV Kabs Haloha, Argatha Loswash his comedian colleagues like Richard Tuwangye, Anne Kansiime, Napoleone Emma, Ronnie Mc Vex who was the host and representatives from sponsors Singleton, Stanbic Bank, Shell, Sheer Solutions Africa and Betway among others.

Reggae star Bebe Cool was also at the VIP section enjoying the stories.

Goodlyfe duo Radio and Weasel seized the opportunity to advertise their own upcoming show

Salvado also officially launched his Charity Foundation #TheDawaFoundation” named after his father to support Homes that care for children with special needs. He donated 3 million each to the 2 homes.

And he brought his love and humour all the way from ‘troubled’ Kenya.
