Tomorrow all roads lead to MTN Lugogo Arena in Lugogo as the Battle of Titans takes place in Kampala. The long awaited Intercontinental kickboxing fight between homeboy Alex Masiko and Hungarian Champion Istvan SZÜCS is expected to produce fireworks.
The two will be fighting in a K-1 style World Kickboxing federation sanctioned fight in the Lightmiddleweight – 72,30Kg/159 lbs category, for the Intercontinental title. SZÜCS who is also the new PRO-AMEuropean champion, will jet in the country later in the evening today after flight delays and confusion in his travel arrangements.
The fight is expected to be an action packed thriller with the fighters all declaring themselves ‘more than ready’. Masiko has promised to knock the champion in the third round of the five-round scheduled fight.
The other main event of the evening will pit National female champion Patricia Apolot against Jackie Nasimbwa from Pentagon in Nateete. Apolot will be defending her title against hard hitting Nasimbwa in a Re-match which Apolot won earlier in Natete Shopping Center in August in the Lightweight – 60 Kg/132 lbs category.
This time round things may not be that easy for the National Champion as Nasimbwa has promised to knock her out in the third round. Nasimbwa who is trained by national coach Sadat claims the first match was almost a mismatch as Apolot was about five Kilos heavier than her hence the reason she lost. But this time round they have weighed in almost the same at 60 Kgs which she says is at her advantage.
According to the promoters Magic of Hunnia Ltd, there will be several undercard fights lined up and an after party for the fans at Club Rouge after the fights. Entry fee for the fights is 10,000/= and VIPs pay 20,000/= and 30,000/= respectively. The event is organized and promoted by Magic of Hunnia Ltd.
