Ugandan events manager security and safety expert for the confederation of African Football (CAF) Dixon ‘Bond’ Okello criticized singer Spice Diana for moving many body guards whenever she makes public appearances.
According to him, Spice is an ordinary Ugandan singer who doesn’t have any security threats and her moving around with four body guards is just “too much hype”
“Too much hype. She has more bouncers than hit songs. I just wonder why most Ugandan artists think it’s cool to move with bouncers. Ugandans honestly don’t have the time to attack people without a stable Income,” He posted on his official Facebook account on Sunday although he later deleted it.
Okello went ahead to say that the bouncers are not necessary basing on the fact that many of them lack professional training in security related matters.
“The saddest part is that the people being carried along as bouncers don’t have any professional training in security management or crowd control.” He added.
However, Diana has on several occasions defended her manager’s move to give her security whenever she is moving around in public for business. She said the late singer and vocalist Mowzey Radio and Dancehall singer AK 47 wouldn’t have been murdered if he had bouncers.
She also gave an example of Tanzanian artistes Diamond Platnumz and Harmonize who move with a full band and bodyguards for their own safety even when in they are their own countries.
