The trend of silent discos is slowly sinking its roots deeper on the Uganda entertainment scene and party animals have gotten used to this experience where you get to listen to the music you want in headphones. On the same note, ‘Arua silent disco’ is still the talk amongst Arua (A town) residents who filled up Oasis 24-7 bar where the first ever edition of Silent disco was held courtesy of Almost Famous Djz last Saturday the 12th of August.
Starting off as early as early as 8:30 PM, the party mood could be told from how the revellers were storming the venue in big groups ready to listen and dance to the best of music which was played on four different channels that is Red (Reggae and Dancehall), Blue (Old School), Green (African) and Yellow (Urban Music) but the headphones allowed anyone to flip to all the channels.
Almost Famous Djz’s Jagen, Waga, Jermain and Conc Mukiga who took to the turn tables after midnight, lit up more fire and excitement into the crowd which had earlier been warmed up buy other Djs like Kiko, Redd, Emma, Crystal and Marcus De Virus also from Almost Famous Djz that got the crowd crazy.
Jagen played the best of old school tunes, Waga played urban, Conc Mukiga played African where as Jermain got the attendees dancing to best of Reggae and Dancehall riddims all night long. Being a silent disco, it did not stop revellers from screaming loud when ever their favourite songs played and like expected, some revellers pulled their best dance strokes where as some chose to just stay seated as they sipped on their drinks while enjoying the music
In respect for the home town Djs, Arua-based Djs namely Mosh, Rhods and Mandezo were given a chance to showcase their skills. They officially kicked off the disco in style as more attendees continued to storm the venue.
In a nut shell, the event was well attended, every one truly got value for their entry fee and until next time, Arua fans were left asking for more of the fun.
