Contrary to recent media reports that Mesach Semakula is critically sick, the Golden Band leader also known as Golden Papa is actually steadily recovering and feeling much better.
The stories about Mesach Semakula were sparked off after band member Maureen Nantume broke the news that the ‘Omwana wa Muteesa’ singer was very sick suffering from diabetes and having a ‘bed rest’ at his home in Buziga as advised by doctors.
“I am afraid. I had to inform you my dear friends to keep your fingers crossed and pray for my mentor, father and everything I love most in the music sector. He made me what I am today. Golden papa Meshach Semakula is seriously ill and on bed rest at his home in Buziga. God I know I have asked for more than enough and you have never got tired of me please heal my papa,” Nantume wrote on her Facebook.
However, some sections of the media took it into over drive and published varying reports of the nature of his sickness and the state he was in with some describing it as very critical.
Other social media reports even suggested he the former Eagles Production director had actually passed on raising concern among fans and fellow artistes some of whom rushed to check on him while others bombarded his social media channels with inquiries and questions over his condition.
However, it was Rema Namakula who visited the singer last week and posted photos of a jolly Semakula clad in a white tunic ‘Kanju’ seen smiling and joking around with his visitors that included children from Rema’s family. “Visited my brother this morning, he is getting much better. Thanks for your prayers.” Rema wrote on her Facebook page.
Semakula himself confirmed to Chano8 in a chat that he is ok and wrote a brief WhatsApp message to friends to confirm he is fine. “Hallo my friends am not sick as people are reporting it temuya”
