Solome Basuuta is a beautiful singer who is very comfortable calling herself the ‘Queen Of Love’. She is one who sings about love, love and more love and if you are a fan, you definitely know what we are talking about.
Having made a debut on the music scene in May 2015 by releasing a 10 track album titled ‘The Song Love’ as well as holding a sold out concert at Golf Course Hotel, Kampala, fans have been demanding for another concert and finally their requests were considered.
On Thursday the 29th of November, Solome serenaded her fans at a VIP concert dubbed ‘Love Nights’ which took place at Skyz Hotel, Naguru. The night saw her unleash her vocal ability while performing her songs and a few covers near to perfection.
Welcomed by the band in a special way, Solome took to the stage at exactly 9 PM and straight away she kicked off her showcase performing ‘You Are Not Afraid’, ‘All In’ before singing a cover of the late Whitney Houston’s ‘I Have Nothing’ hit that got the revellers singing along and clapping for her
She later performed ‘Ndeete’, ‘There is More’ and that is when two dancers joined her and together they excited the crowd. Before she took a brief break, she performed another cover tune titled ‘Natural Woman’ by the late singer Aretha Franklin as a special piece for her dear parents who were in attendance. During the break, she invited singer JC Muyonjo who impressed as she prepared for round two
The ‘queen of love’ returned with ‘Nsuubira’, ‘Nkomyewo’ and finalised her performance by inviting a surprise act Maurice Kirya with whom they performed her last song ‘Can We Stay’ as the crowd cheered them on. Maurice spiced up Solome’s performance by the display of his vocal ability as well as pulling rare dance moves with her.
In a special way, Solome said a special thank you to all the revellers for having made it to her concert despite the fact that the country has been mourning the death of revellers who passed on during the Saturday the 24th of November boat cruise accident.
