Singer Vampino Hails Bobi Wine For Playing A Big Role In Being Freed From Jamaican Prison

The reason why he got locked up in a cell located in Montego Bay, Jamaica where he has recently been on a visit is still scanty, but Ugandan Dancehall singer Vampino formerly known as Vampos, last Friday slept in the coolers.

His efforts to get released from the cell in a foreign country were futile as the only thing he could do was to put up a post on his official Facebook account, informing his followers and concerned people what had happened to him.

“Uganda my peeps help me and contact the embassy am locked in a Jamaican cell in Montego bay..munyambe…have no help here.” Read Vampino’s post

As his fans and family were all worried and showing their concern, several hours later, Vampino again took to his Facebook account to inform fans how he had been released from the cell.

He also accompanied the post with a video of himself at what looks like an airport where he took a flight out of Jamaica

The “Love To Dance” singer was so thankful to his Ugandan fans for showing solidarity with him but in a special way, he thanked veteran musician-turned-politician Bobi Wine whom he (Vampino) says took time to find out where he was.

“I write this with tears of joy coming from my ug pipo I can’t thank u enough for being so patriotic and concerned of whats been happening. H.E Bobi Wine thanks alot brother…u indeed a people’s person..u took time to find out where I am.”- Reads Vampino’s long post in part

In his narration, Vampino who is singer Maurice Kirya’s elder brother revealed that while in the cell, “he lost hope in a room of seven inmates with urine and faeces next to where he rests the head”

Vampino further narrates that all his belongings were taken and even the Facebook post he put up was by the help of a security guard.

“Nobody knew then what’s happening and they took all my belonging..the message I sent a guard was convinced by the jailed thugs some on murder charges, rape, gun cases, theft. They told him” help di African he is innocent”…that’s when I called u all out nga mpulila am at a dead end…”

Meanwhile, Vampino who has been out of Uganda for some months now, a few weeks ago visited Jamaica and going by his recent Facebook posts, he has been having nothing but a blast over there interacting with Jamaicans among other things he did in Montego Bay and Kingston cities.

On September 21st, he posted that he had left Jamaica only to post on Facebook on 25th that he had been locked up in a cell in Montego Bay and he claims that “the reason he was locked in the cell is because they had no flight direct to Africa so they threw him in jail instead of a hotel”
