Come to think of it, for every milestone achieved, someone should first consider themselves before thanking anyone else and that’s exactly what rapper Snoop Dogg did.
Born Calvin Broadus, the musician received his star on the walk of fame and thanked himself before anyone else in his congratulatory message.
“I want to thank me for believing in me; I want to thank me for doing all this hard work, I want to thank me for having no days off; I want to thank me for never quitting, I want to thank me for always being a giver, and trying to give more than I receive. I want to thank me for trying to do more right than wrong. I want to thank me for just being me at all times,” said Snoop.
This milestone comes just days before the 25th anniversary of his debut album ‘Doggystyle’.
The 16-time Grammy nominee legendary artiste from West Coast was escorted by fellow rapper Dr Dre and record producer Quincy Jones among others.
Besides singing, the 47-year old Snoop who also calls himself Snoop Lion, has also featured in some movies like Training day, Hutch and Scary movie 5 among others. He is also a songwriter, record producer, television personality and entrepreneur.
He was discovered by Dr.Dre and featured in two of his albums “Cover”, and The Chronic before going solo. He has since sold over 23 million albums in the United States and 35 million albums worldwide.
