The 12th edition of the annual Bayimba Festival is returning from 1st to 4th August at their new home in Lunkulu Island Mukono. This is going to be the second time the event is happening at the venue which was officially unveiled last year.
With the new venue, not so many attended last year’s event and this has forced the organizers to think through on what to do to get big numbers this time round. They have therefore resorted to line up some of Africa’s big artistes and among those that are slated to be on the line-up is BET Award winning DJ and producer Black Coffee and Nigerian heartthrob Adekunle Gold.
According to a reliable source, these two could be on their way to Uganda to perform on the last day of the concert and will be joined by Sheebah Karungi and Fik Fameica.
Black Coffee besides music was at one time listed to be among the top wealthiest artistes in Africa while Adekunle Gold is a Nigerian highlife singer, songwriter and graphic designer. His debut studio album ‘Gold’ debuted at number 7 on the Billboard World Albums chart.
Many believe that with the switch of location from National Theatre to Lunkulu Island, the festival somehow lost it and perhaps that is one of the main reasons why the brains behind the event decided to involve international acts in order to gain people’s support.
