When you talk about bands, you can’t miss mentioning Steve Keys and his band that plays at Gatto Matto every Tuesday. For the first time last evening, we witnessed our perception of Ugandan gospel music change at the Good Times gospel music event. The event took place yesterday at Gatto Matto and was the first of its kind at the Bugolobi based hangout.
The first edition of Good Times featured Steven Kigozi aka Steve Keys and the Hebron Band. The experience was on a higher level as this it saw Steve Keys taking to the stage and pulling off an exciting performance. The result was excitement, joy, cheers and screams from the now hypnotized audience. He was later on substituted by the Good Times Band which added the gospel fans a bigger dose of gospel rhymes.
The event which started as early as 4:00pm, ended at exactly 8:00pm with a massive climax that is mainly owed to the block buster hit ‘I Know Who I Am’ by Sinach, one of the hottest gospel songs right now that has surprisingly received even more airplay in clubs and bars. We will keep seeing more of the Good Times every last Sunday of the month at Gatto Matto.
The Good Times is a gospel music-themed fun gathering for music lovers where live music and poetry take centre stage every last Sunday of the month and will be headlined by one or more of the local gospel music stars.
