Submission Of Entries For AFRIMA 2021 Opened For African Music Professionals

The submission of entries for the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2021 edition is officially open and details on entry submission guidelines are available on the AFRIMA website (

This is an annual awards event established by the international committee AFRIMA, in collaboration with the African Union (AU), to reward and celebrate musical works, talents and creativity around the African continent while promoting the African cultural heritage.

According to a statement signed by Cisse Mariama Mohamed, AU’s director of Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, entries for the awards will be opened to African music professionals either living on the continent or in the diaspora.

Mohamed said that entries can be submitted  via AFRIMA’s official website starting Monday the 28th of June, adding that the process will end on Friday the 20th of August .

She also said that the songs and videos to be submitted must have been released or produced between 1st of June 2020 to 20th August 2021

The submission of entries will be followed by pre-screening process slated to take place between 21st to 28th of August, after which the AFRIMA International jury comprising of a 13-man panel of experienced, respected African music experts and practitioners will carry out the adjudication process from 29th of August 6th of September.

The adjudication process will involve the jury members carefully assessing and selecting the very best amongst submitted entries which will make it to the AFRIMA 2021 Nominees’ List.

On completion, the nominees list will be unveiled on 7th  September and on 8th, the African music fans and followers around the globe will begin to participate in the public voting process also to be conducted on

The voting process, which closes 24 hours before the main awards ceremony, will be monitored and audited by a reputable International Auditing Firm.

Finally, the main awards ceremony, which is set to be held from 18th November will feature a three-day fiesta of music, glamour, Afrocentrism and entertainment.

It will start with the welcome party followed by the AFRIMA music village, the host city tour, the Africa music business summit the exclusive nominees party and concluded with the live awards ceremony,
