Tanzanian veteran star Singer Alikiba was yet at it again rounding the clock back as he brought back memories of the days Tanzanian Music ruled the air waves especially East African TV and Radio with Bongo Flava taking over.
Songs like ‘Mac Muga’, ‘Usiniseme’, ‘Cinderrella’, ‘Nakshi Naksi Mrembo’ and ‘Njiwa’ dominated around 2005 and 2007 but came to life once again as the Tanzanian performed them live to the cheering crowd. Although the turn up was low,the fans still enjoyed every bit and sang along to most of the songs.
The party continued late into the night past the usual midnight deadline at the Hockey Grounds in Lugogo. Despite taking to the stage with about 30 minutes to midnight, the Tanzanian sensation known for churning melodious tunes, continued for about an hour mixing old and new songs like ‘Aje’, ‘Mwana’ and ‘Chekecha’.
To crown his performance which he had spiced up with some wiggling and erotic dance moves, the ladies man had to peel off his shirt to the excitement of the female fans who still yearned for more of the sexy moves.
Earlier Weasel had also done his bit by lifting the spirits of the crowd with another of those performances that brought back memories of his fallen partner Radio as he performed most of the songs they did as Radio and Weasel.
Veteran gospel singer and former member of Limit-X Isaac Rucci made a return from retirement to kick off the night’s performances with the new Gospel crooner Levixone, songwriter and music producer Daddy Andre, new kid on the Isaac Rucci music duo Kent and Flosso as well as Sheebah Karungi also doing a great job.
Event Organisers Nexus Events who are also debuting on the events scene did an amazing job with the mega stage that they had erected with host Salvdo admitting it is the biggest he had stepped on while the sound was clean too. The event was powered byTusker Lite.
