The Annual Break-Fast Jam 5th round finals which are slated for Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of November at YMCA Wandegeya-Kampala, were yesterday officially launched at a press conference held at Sharing Youth Centre located in Nsambya.
In partnership with the American Embassy, The Break-Fast Jam grand finale is basically going to be about battles among dance groups that made it to the finals following the elimination rounds that were held in Eastern and Central Uganda and Kenya.
The same event will feature Crazy Legs one of the most celebrated break dancers and also a pioneer of break dance from the 1970’s, and he is a member of the famous dance group called Rock Steady. He also featured in movies like ‘Freshest Kids’ an ‘Flash Dance’.
While addressing journalists, The ‘Break Dance Project Uganda’ founder and director Abramz, who said got his break dancing inspiration from Crazy Legs said that come Saturday and Sunday, everything will be well set for the fans to enjoy.
Crazy Legs also said that he sees his coming as a supporting role and also thanked the ‘Break Fast Jam’ team for the great work they have done.
Break-Fast Jam is an annual break dance event held in Uganda and Kenya. It brings together participants from East African countries and the rest of the world and its overall aim is cultivating a positively enriching break dance culture in Africa.
This initiative empowers participants socially and economically by elevating them with practical skills, knowledge, inspiration and experiences on a neutral platform. Break-Fast Jam’s activities include workshops, competitions, performances, exhibitions and educational discussions.
To the lovers of break dance and the other party animals, this Saturday and Sunday are your days to have fan as you watch the dance crews tussle it out at only 5,000’s entrance fee and free entrance for kids below 10 years.
