The ‘Kitenge’ Print Still Rules At Blankets And Wine

Photos by Habre Muriisa

If you were at the last two editions of Blankets and Wine then you will agree am not the only one that thought the era of African Print Kitenge was over. We were starting to worry about all the small tailoring businesses that had hinged their entire business on this trend. Chiffon became quite popular and lace was a close second.

The 14th edition of Blankets and Wine organised by House of djs  and sponsored by DSTV, tusker-lager ,  Rwanda Air, Stanbic Bank among many others put our worries to rest when many beauties were clad in new styles of the kitenge. As always, the ladies were beautiful even the ones that had to brave the rain and cold in their little outfits. As they say fashion knows no weather!

This time it was not only the outfit you had to worry about, Hair and make-ups were a big deal. The ladies stepped it up a notch higher when we all had to book for hair and make-up appointments just to slay on a whole new level.

We have to commend the guys for pulling out all the stops with the bright coloured shorts, designer shirts and not being afraid of the Kitenge trend. Enjoy our gallery!!
