Whatever is happening to bar business should be investigated because the rate at which they are closing is really alarming. A few years ago, Club silk closed its doors, marking the end of decades of service to Ugandan party goers and the information we have received on our news desk is that the Kampala Road based Club Amnesia is also going to close its doors today Thursday the 1st of August.
We are still investigating the main reason behind the closure of one of the biggest hangouts on Kampala road but rumors have it that clients had decreased tremendously yet rent was too high.
Lately, only a handful of cars have been spotted at the night spot’s parking slots even during busy days like Friday and Saturdays. Thursday which has been one of their busy nights with video premises had become a shadow of its former self.
“For the last eight years, we have been open 5 days a week, offering a fresh experience to Kampala’s partiers with a fresh & different theme every night & more. However, this Thursday 1st August 2019 will be our last night to have one last drink. With effect from Friday 2nd August 2019, Club Amnesia will be no more! On behalf of the Board of Directors” Read part of a statement from the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Club Amnesia, Dr. Innocent Nahabwe
Amnesia has been operating for the past 8 years and is one of the few bars that have managed to stay around on that street for those years after the collapse of Club 9 Degreez, Club Rouge, Mateos and Space Lounge.
Amnesia was among the chains of businesses that Innocent Nahabwe and his partners own which include Blucube, Galaxy FM and Kagwirawo Sports Betting company among others.
