Singer Wycliffe Tuguume aka Ykee Benda is a stressed man right now after thieves broke into his Mpaka Records studio and took off with equipment worth millions of shillings.
According to information we got, the thugs stole studio monitors, instruments like mixers, keyboards, microphones among others which forced the Uganda Musicians Association president to close the studios indefinitely.
Due to issues beyond us, Mpaka Records studios are out of bound for non-employees till further notice. Forgive us for any inconveniences in due course. Everything will fall back in place,’ Benda posted on his social media pages.
After the announcement, the ‘Farmer’ singer confirmed the sad story to media and was quoted as saying he got a step back;
“Man, the studios were broken into. This has taken us several steps back. All my sweat and hard work. It is really terrible,” he said.
Although no suspects have been arrested yet, it is suspected his close allies and producers are behind the theft and in a video clip circulating on social media, Benda is even seen interrogating one of his producers Daryhits and a one, Sunday who reside at the studio premises.
