Tokosa Food Festival 2018 Launched As Venue Changes

For three years so far, Tokosa Food Festival organized by Shell Uganda has been an event that has been bringing Kampala foodies together. It is an annual event that celebrates food, cooking, eating, sharing and bonding with an aim to promote relationships, explore cuisines offered by Kampala’s best food places.

For the past three editions, the festival has been a success and the last edition (3rd) took place last year on Saturday the 20th of May and despite the low turn up, there were super exciting cook offs and entertainment from top city Djs and artistes like Maurice Kirya and Lydia Jazmine.

The fest is now back with a big bang in 2018 with the 4th edition which was launched on Wednesday the 2nd of May 2017 ahead of D-day the 17th of June 2018 at a new venue that is Uganda Manufactures Association (UMA) show grounds.

The 4th edition was launched at a presser that took place at Naguru Hilltop where the media and other attendees were briefed on what to expect come Sunday the 17th of June.

While speaking at the presser, Mr Gilbert Assi  the Managing Director Vivo Energy Uganda the mother company of Shell had this to say.

“We would like to bring on the good times to Ugandans and their families. This is a platform to celebrate the growing and vibrant food culture in Uganda. It has become one of the most important events and it is also a good platform to connect with consumers and food enthusiasts through tasting various dishes.  This year, it is not only the well range of cuisines but also a great line up of entertainment. As you know it is the world cup season so the football fans will have their space”

As opposed to the last 3 editions, Tokosa Festival will not stop at 6PM like it has always been, the event will end at 11 PM, it will have three masters of ceremony that is Deedan, Bryan McKenzie and comedian Salvado plus there will lots of entertaining activities.

Tokosa Festival 2018 that will boast of cook offs, variety of cuisines and pastries, celebrity chefs, lots of games, give aways and a kids area is sponsored by Jumia Food, Coca Cola and UgaChick,
