- Artistes Meet president Museveni at state house again
- They are working on a new project
- The last project Mr Museveni did with local artistes is ‘Tubonga Naawe’
Last year February’s Tubonga Naawe project is where we saw various local artistes campaign for incumbent president of Uganda HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the then presidential elections where on top of normal campaigns, the artistes recorded a song ‘Tubonga Naawe’ that became controversial somehow.
News reaching our desk is that on Tuesday, more artistes met the president at State house Entebbe. Among them were those who took part in ‘Tubonga Naawe’ song like Dr Jose Chameleone, Radio, Catherine Kusaasira, King Saha, and others who didn’t participate like Stecia Mayanja, Gravity Omutujju, Ragga Dee, Dj Michael, Dr Hilderman, Omulangila Suuna, Fiina Masanyalaze. However, the group didn’t comprise of only artistes but other people like comedian Teacher Mpamire, Radio and Weasel’s, manager Chagga, events promoter Balaam among others.
However in a bid to keep you in the know, Chano8 had to go an extra mile to find out exactly what they had to meet the fountain of honour and Dr Hilderman explained to us saying.
“This is not yet a done project so I am sorry I can’t disclose the particulars. We were on the campaign trail for the president so we have some other things we are coming up with but they are not in that line of being disclosed but the meeting was not about artistes who sang in Tubonga Naawe but who were part of the campaigns like me.”
However, after their meeting with the Mr Museveni (Sevo), he thanked them for calling on him and being patriotic.

That aside, The ‘Tubonga Naawe’ project had a lot of good things and bad things associated with it like when a section of the general public took it to social media to declare war against the artistes by promising never to attend their concerts unless they come out to publicly apologise for participating on the project. Some artistes did apologise where as some did not and from then we haven’t heard of any new project not until yesterday when we saw a couple of artistes at state house posing for pictures with the president.
