Tycoon SK Mbuga’s Wife Vivianne Granted Shs 20 Million Bail

While business tycoon SK Mbuga is still in jail, his wife Angella Vivienne Chebet is a free woman after she was granted bail on Wednesday morning.

The bail was granted  by the High Court Judge Lawrence Gidudu after her people paid Ug Shs 20 million.

We don’t know what her next move is going to be but immediately after getting the bail, one of her lawyers was heard telling her to get enough rest after which, they will meet to discuss more.

Angela had been remanded to Luzira Prison on fraud charges for close to three months and she was remanded at the Kololo based court by Chief Magistrate Anti-Corruption court, Ms Pamela Lamunu Ocaya in February.

The 33 year old, a resident of Buziga, Upper was facing charges of money-laundering and obtaining over Ug Shs 20.9 billion from a fake gold transfer deal.

She was arrested mid-February this year, soon after her husband SK Mbuga was extradited to Denmark to also face charges related to fraud.

Mr Mbuga was arrested in the United Arab Emirates locked up at the Awiir Central jail in Dubai, a port city on the Persian Gulf, over fraud involving Dubai and Oman businessmen.
