21-year-old Uganda Cranes’ attacking midfielder Farouk Miya is now in bigger things after joining Turkish side Kanyaspor FC on a three-year deal.
Farouk who displayed his unmatched football skills in all the four Uganda Cranes’ games at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt has been playing for Croatian side HNK Gorica which he scored 5 goals for in in 30 appearances last season
According to what Farouk told Kanyaspor’ news website, he disclosed that he admired the their stadium facilities on his arrival
“I admired the stadium and facilities. As soon as I stepped into the club, I realized what a great community it was. I signed for three years here today.” Miya said. “During this period, I want to make a great contribution to Konyaspor with my performance.” he added.
He also took his excitement after signing the 3-year -deal to social media (Twitter to be exact) where he sent shared photos of him posing with his new club’s manager and captioned them “New Challenge”
Kanyaspor manager Seçkin Özdil gave Miya the number 21 jersey during his unveiling the ceremony that was held in Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium.
“I thank everyone who contributed to my transfer. I’m excitedly waiting for the day I will be on the field,” Seçkin Özdil said.
