Ugandan singer Sarah Musayimuto who is based in Denmark has been nominated for two IPMA awards for world music performance and pop performance. The artiste who was rather overwhelmed with Joy shared the news with Chano8 revealing that it was her songs Bad Gyal and As Long that were nominated.
She further went to address her critics saying,
‘I noticed some people laughing at this song of mine As Long. You May Laugh and make jokes of others, but they Laugh back at you! haaha things you take for granted.‘ The diaspora based singer indeed addressed her haters only concluding with,
‘They Laughed But; there are people enjoying it worldwide Internationally.‘
Music composed by Sarah Musayimuto is a combination of soul, Reggae, dancehall, zouk, R&B, blues, Jazz and pop. Her musical influences include cece winans, whitney Houston, Aretha franklin and Toni Braxton among others, it’s no wonder her voice is so captivating.
The IPMA award show will be held on April 23, 2016 at the Zeiterion Theatre (684 Purchase St.) in New Bedford, Massachusetts
