Ugandans Take To Social Media To Mourn The Late Muhammad Kirumira

On Saturday the 8th of September around 9:00 PM, fear and horror gripped the nation following  yet another high profile brutal killing that claimed the life of former Buyende District Police Commander, Afande Muhammad Kirumira and his female friend who were gunned down at Bulenga trading centre

It was reported that the late Kirumira and the friend were heading back to his home while driving in his black Toyota Corona car registration number UAJ 228 V  when assassins riding on boda bodas (motor bikes) shot both dead. According to an eye witness, the murderers shot more than 10 bullets which left Kirumira and the friend dead on spot.

Sickening photos from people who were at the scene making rounds on the internet and social media show lifeless Kirumira on the driver’s seat as his female friend lies in the passenger’s seat in what seemed like a serious discharge of ammunition in a cold-blooded assassination.

President Museveni went to the crime scene a few hours later. He waked to Kirumira’s car as he delivered instructions to his security officers not to walk over specific crime spots. He later summoned the crowd that was watching from a distance. “Bani Ababadewo?” which is Luganda for ‘who witnessed the shooting?’. Two people raised their hands and that is when he asked them to draw near him and started interrogating them privately.

The public has since then taken to social media on different platforms to pass on their condolence messages to the late.

More details coming.
