There was a non concluded public debate some years ago about whether it is ok for Gospel music singers to perform at secular music events. However, from the look of things, it seems they are and in Kampala, it is not something surprising to see a gospel singer at a secular event
On that note, last Friday the 23rd of November, Uganda’s hottest DJ duo of Dj Roja and Slick Stuart held the 4th edition of their annual Mix Tape Party at Golf Course Hotel and gospel singer Exodus was among the headlining artistes
When the MC announced that it was Exodus’ time to take to the stage, the crowd was so shocked to see him perform another singers’ song amongst the many hit songs he has since he broke through. To make matters worse, it was a secular song dubbed ‘Ompalula’ by Dancehall artiste Phantom Lovins
As he performed the song, one of the surprised revellers was heard asking, “Is that Exodus’ song?”.
Exodus’ performance was going on smoothly until the mood changed when one Dj Vee joined him on stage. Clad in an extremely short-gold dress that was exposing her panties, the beautiful and light skinned Dj did nothing but bent and started rubadubing the ‘Ganja Man’ hit singer who seemed comfortable her actions as revellers excitedly cheered them as well as recording video clips of them
