Despite the fact that Jamaican Dancehall guru Vybz Kartel is serving his 35 year sentence in prison, it has not stopped him from exciting his fans worldwide with his versatile Reggae-Dancehall lyrics. From the time he got locked up in cell in April 2014, self proclaimed ‘Worl Boss’ (World Boss) Vybz Kartel has never stopped the singing fire from burning.
‘King Of The Dancehall’ which is the name of the album Vybz Kartel is slated to release on Friday the 10th of June will follow the one he released last year entitled ‘Viking’ (Vybz is King) that became number 3 on the Billboard’s Reggae Album chart.
The 14 track album has songs like ‘Colouring This Life’, ‘Fever’, ‘Lip Stick’, ‘Can’t Say No’, ‘Don’t Know Some One’, ‘Hey Addi’, ‘Open Up Di Door’, ‘Like Google’, ‘Sorry Babe’, ‘Western Union’, ‘Enemy Zone’, ‘Most Wanted’,’ ‘Every Girl’ and ‘Which Friend’.
According to TJ White of TJ Records who produced this album alongside Adidjahiem Records, everything is all set and 10th of June is the day they await.
Leaving that aside, Vybz Kartel real name Adidja Azim Palmer is currently serving a life sentence following his murder conviction in April 2014 for the death of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams, a former associate in 2011. He will be eligible for parole after 35 years. Kartel is the master mind behind hit songs like ‘Clarks’, ‘Summer Time’, ‘Romping Shot’ and many more and he has mentored lots of Jamaican Dancehall artistes like Gage, Tommy Lee, Shorn Storm, Gaza Slim and Pop Caan.
