WBS TV Finally Sold Off To New Investor

For the past two years, WBS TV has faced all sorts of challenges. From shifting to a new location which was first considered a good move before backfiring to the station being taken under receivership after the owner and business tycoon Gordon Wavamunno failed to meet his tax obligations.

But the worst was yet to come as most of the employees got sacked while others just threw in the towel after things got tough and joined other stations among the notable presenters who left include Mildred Tuhaise, Sabiiti, Web Daniel Ssebakigye and Luzze Anderson who left recently.

Because of all that, the station has lost half of its man power, a deal worth not missing then came for Wavamunno who decided to sell the station to an unnamed Zimbabwean millionaire believed to be Econet Wireless founder Strive Masiyiwa in a deal worth billions.

However, information we can confirm to be reliable is that, the station is strictly going to be a sports channel known as ‘Kwese Sports’ and effectively the receivership bit is rectified.

The other important news is that, all the remaining staff have to re-apply for their jobs as this is going to be new management that is looking for only professionals to do the work.

This is rather good news for the sports fans as some of the English premier league games will be aired live at Kwese Sports as well as Motor cross, tennis, Athletics, boxing and basketball among others.
