She might be one of Uganda’s biggest female musicians but her misconduct almost led her into trouble. Two weeks back, Nwagi was the headlining act at an event held at St Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) and in a video clip of her performance that made rounds on social media, she is seen engaging the students in some erotic dance moves while shaking her body.
People’s reactions on social media might have forced her management team Swangz Avenue to come out and apologize for what she did.
According to Swangz official page, the management regrets what she did and confirmed that it was an error in judgement.
“We deeply regret the inappropriate performance by Winnie Nwagi at St Mary’s College Kisubi on July 13th. We have investigated the incident and measures have been put in place to avoid a repeat of the same. This was a huge error in judgment and both the Artist and the management team acknowledge the pain and mistrust caused by this incident. We apologize to the general public, parents of the students in attendance and the school Administration,” they posted.
The ‘Matala’ artiste on the other hand has also come out and admitted to having gone overboard.
“I always try to keep my fans entertained and sometimes I go overboard and my Smack performance was one of those. I should have done better and to all offended parties, am sorry. Myself and my team are committed to always offer value to clients within limits of the allowed moral standards and shall always remind ourselves of that.” Read Nwagi’s apology
