Musician Martin Nkoyoyo a.k.a Yoyo says his music dream is still alive despite taking too long to release new songs.
The artist says he has been on a musical break doing personal work but promises his fans that he is will come back to the local music industry in 2016.
Speaking on Bukedde TV’s weekly entertainment programme FULDOZ presented by Flavia Namulindwa, Yoyo known for songs like Ansana and Simuleka, confessed that he misses his fans who have been waiting for a word from since 2015.
The programme airs every Friday from 11-2:30 pm.
He dismisses reports that his music career is over as Ugandans always say whenever an artist is not producing songs consistently.
“I miss my fans because they made me what am today. I have been off the music scene because I was engaged in personal work that couldn’t allow me to concentrate on music, dance and drama,” he said during the interview segment where different local performing artists are interviewed.
He said that he is working on a couple of singles that he will release at the end of 2016.
“Am working on an album, I have three singles and one of them is called sinorita, I am still working on its video,” he said.
He added that he doesn’t have pressure to release songs like other artists do because he doesn’t have competitors in the industry.
“My style is mine alone. I have no competition from the artists. YOYO is one and I will always remain Nkoyoyo, one of the most talented musicians in Uganda,” he added.
