Uganda’s celebrated socialite, Zari Hassan aka Boss Lady was in Kenya over the weekend for The Colour Purple event, hosted at the Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi. According to reports, the South African-based Ugandan businesswoman walked away with millions of shillings for attending the event.
In an exclusive interview with Maina Kageni on Classic 105 FM. She narrated the feel of integrity loss after she was cheated on by Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz whilst his misbehavior on social media.
Additionally, she attributes the separation to contemplation for her children. However, she concludes that she is in good terms with Platnumz though no longer a couple.

“I loved him so much and everyone knows about that. You can go cheat there as a man but when it comes in with madharau (Swahili for disrespect), that is when it becomes too much. I felt that my integrity was so low. Like, when my big boys see Diamond misbehaving on social media, they will not have respect for women when they grow up.” Explained Zari
“I asked myself, why do I have to settle for this? My children were insulted on social media. Being the fact that they do not have a father, they will know that in future they need to respect women, and that is why I left,” Zari said, adding that she still loves Diamond despite leaving him.
Fact file: Zari Hassan (in her mid 30s) sired three sons; Pinto, Quincy and Didy with Late Ugandan socialite and don, Ivan SSemwanga to whom she was married too before misunderstandings causing separation. Many attribute his death to the former couple’s relationship mix-up stress. Also, she birthed Diamond’s daughter,Tiffah Dangote and son Prince Nilan.
