Last Wednesday, Ghetto Republic Prime Minister, Zex Inch Kumi Bilangilangi hosted his fans at his 30-track album listeners’ party held at Exo Lounge, located in Industrial Area, Kampala.
Fans had been waiting so many of them thronged Exo, ready to listen to listen these 30 songs among which include his famous hit “Magazine” that was released last year.
By 10 PM, the lounge was full although at that time nothing much was taking place on stage. Revellers who were seen in groupies holding some conversations while sipping on their favourite drinks were however being treated to the best live Dj mixes which they were seen vibing to, until MC Jerome took to stage and took the vibe a notch higher with his hype.
Meanwhile, as this was happening, Zex and his entourage (Geng Geng) were seen in the VIP section having what we are comfortable calling a good time, as show time drew closer.
The party however first came to a brief halt as Zex’s mentor, veteran artiste-turned-politician and former presidential candidate Robert “Bobi Wine” Ssentamu Kyagulanyi made his entrance. All the attention first shifted to him before Zex could take to the stage.
At half past 11 PM when the excitement had cooled down, Zex was introduced to stage in style, this time by a different MC, Next Radio’s Zahara Totto and with no waste of time, the excited artiste started his performance.
He performed all the 30 songs on CD as the crowd cheered him on and also moved around interacting with his fans face to face. In the middle of his performance, there was a more exciting moment when Bobi Wine was given a microphone to say hi to the crowd but he also deejayed (freestyled) on a random beat which left the revellers fully thrilled.
Some of the artistes and celebrities who were in attendance are Eddy Yawe, Nubian Li, producers Andy Music and Dan Magic, Feffe Bussi, Winnie Nwagi, Karole Kasita, Spice Diana, music promoter Abitex, Weasel, Sheenah Skies, Eddy Kenzo, Tip Swizzy, Banjo Man, Dax Vibes, Allan Hendrick among others.
Meanwhile, although Zex is Ugandan-Dancehall artiste, the album has songs in different genres from Dancehall, Reggae, Afrobeat, Amapiano and the artistes he collaborated with on this project are Winnie Nwagi, Sheena Skies, Mudra, Jose Chameleone, Weasel, Mbuzi Gang (Kenya), Elijah Kitaka and TJ and Dom.
